A Map of Cards

There are 48 cards organized into 4 Suits in this Deck for Wonder-Walking - one for each of the 4 Labyrinth Realms, loosely correspond to Jungian and Alchemical systems (by accident actually, which is why they're archetypal). This is a map of all the cards and how they fit in the Labyrinth of Enchantment.

If you look closer, you'll notice that the cards subtly transform in color from one Realm to another. From fresh greens and blues to deep indigos and greys. Since I am a painter, the colors by itself is a symbolic language all its own.

Wonder & Curiosity : The Physical Realm (Sensing, Earth/Material) Magic-Making : The Creative Realm (Intuition, Fire/Passion) Truth-Finding : The Inner Realm (Feeling, Water/Unconscious) Secret Garden : The Influence Realm (Thinking, Air/Intellect)

This is a Deck of Walking Cards.

Use them to inspire your walk in nature, in city streets, in your neighborhood park. Each card in the deck is an invitation to look closer and immerse deeper, not only in the sense of a place, but also to know ourselves in it. How we belong. How it makes us feel. How it heals.

They are archetypal, as all wonder-making experiences are, so you can use them for divination, and as journaling and painting prompts to connect the physical to the primordial.

A Story of Wonder-Walking

Why is wonder-walking so important to me? Why this deck?

Once upon a time, a few years ago, I was weary and depleted in spirit. I was at the crossroads of my creative practice, having left an old path behind and uncertain of my artistic future. I was burnt out from pouring my heart and soul into a creative business I no longer wanted to advance and disconnected from my own voice as an artist. I felt like everyday life was bleached and colorless. I had lost my creative sparkle and studio time was painful.

Slowly, I began creating a world to heal and nourish my creative soul.

And I started walking. A little everyday, with my camera and a miniature rabbit toy.

Short walks. Long walks. Walks in the neighborhood. Walks in the hills.

And my spirit began to heal. Soon I was painting again. Some days I ran back to the studio to put brush to paper.

I slowed down and began noticing details around me I had never noticed before.

I began to develop a way of seeing the world all my own.

Ideas came back. Color came back into my life like watercolor paint blooming on white paper.

I realized now what I didn't know back then :

Wonder-walking is tremendously healing. It slows us down and urges us to see the magic in our everyday. It reconnects us to the world around us and awakens our creativity.

It reconnects us to everything we're losing just by existing in a modern world.

I hope that by creating a deck of 48 Wonder Walks, you'll have a beautiful tool to begin healing your own spirit through walking.
